1. Okinawa Japan
2. Sardinia Italy
3. SDA of Loma Linda California
4. Ikaria Greece
5. Nicoya Peninsula - Costa Rica
Here are a few important points of (erase) The Blue-Zone Longevity Diet
● Eat less: Eat until you are 80% full! Don’t overeat. Eat slowly and enjoy your meal and take your time. Mealtime should never be rushed.
● Move more: Move often and refrain from sitting in front of your desk for too long without moving or stretching. Dance in your kitchen, go walk in your garden or around the block often, play with your kids or even do a handstand every now and then. See the difference it does to your body and your mood.
● Eat Primarily unprocessed foods: Minimize or eliminate the intake of packaged food, fast foods and fried foods. Buy whole foods and go home and make a meal with the company of your family or friends.
● Eat more plants: Load up on vegetables, fruits, legumes, soaked or sprouted whole grains, nuts and seeds. These foods are all packed with nutrition and essential minerals and vitamins, proteins and omega fatty acids.
● Avoid processed meat: Take pride in the meat you eat. Know your farmer and prepare your meat prior to cooking for greater digestion. Marinating your meat in an acidic marinade helps with protein assimilation.
● Eat at home.
